I had an itch to colour this with my markers today, so I did. He managed to survive the scanning process more or less intact, so I'm more or less happy.
But it never looks better than it does in person, I'm afraid.
Though the scanner is like, 500 years old (precisely), so.
(I need one with at least 9x12in bed, for starters, let alone better colour quality...)
The stance has such an air of his personality, and the over embelished tail! Everything about this, even the style of the coloring, it's eaten up with attitude and screams style. The anatomy is very strong, great s-curve, you've done this character all kinds of justice....and I'm not even a Gaara fan!
Wonderful job, I commend you on that awesome marker work!

This is absolutely gorgeous -- fantastic work. The colours on this are spectacular...you've managed to craft a very masterful interpretation of an unique subject-matter.
I'm glad there's someone else out there that's a real fan of Tanuki-Gaara as much as I am.
